Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
I'm leaving now to get in line and pick mine up, anybody else picking one up today? I'm upgrading from my Blackberry and crap ass stone age Nextel service. I signed a 2 year contract with Nextel in early 06, when I knew I probably would regret keeping Nextel. I'm so happy to dump their service.

Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
Well the first place I went to I pulled up front saw no line. I parked walked up to the door and there's a note to go to the back entrance...well there's at least 150 people back there so I said fuck that. The place I'm in line at now has 22 people in front of me, so it shouldn't take too long. They have 8 registers ready, so basic math figures I should be in line by 830 and out of here by 845.

Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
I'm looking at the apple.com message boards and there seem to be a ton of issues, both with the new iphones and the 2.0 update for the old ones. I'm downloading the update, but I'm afraid to install it.

Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
Well nobody can activate their phones yet. The stores can't do it in the entire US and Canada. They are selling us the unactivated phone (which defeated their whole purpose for in store activation so it "couldn't be hacked"). So right now I'm sitting here with a $200 paperweight waiting for the activation to finally start working. When you connect your iPhone to the CPU it tries to connect to the store, but cannot. They said once activated it will take 4 fucking hours to port over from another provider. I wanted to have this phone ready to go for tonight, but I guess that's not happening.

Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
I don't know if it will help you out, but when I installed the 2.0 software this morning my phone was deactivated and all it would do was let me dial 911 and I got a message in iTunes saying that it was unable to connect to the iTunes store. The way I got it to finally update "and activate" was to click another link in iTunes and then click iPhone. After doing this several times (each time it attempts to connect to the iTunes store), I finally connected and the update completed and it reactivated my phone.

Re: 5 reasons to hold off on the iPhone 3G
Well, my wife works for AT&T and I just don't understand this, they were expecting a BIG turn out and even opened the store like 2 or 3 hours early, but they only ordered 20 damn phones and had 10 employees its like WTF what kind of sense did that make! Even the employees was mad because they missed out on what could have been a big money making day for them.
