Honestly, I remember a time around here, when the "community at large" would have shut you up a long time ago. But, I guess things have just changed around here.

I think this post deserves a slow clap. Spoken like a true minion of the old guard here, and of a time when people were afraid to speak their minds due to the mindless/blind following of the former dicatorship. I highly doubt anyone will care either way about this thread, mainly because it is a stupid pissing contest that has no bearing on anything. You can assert your staff power all you want, but as a community participant who wants to help make things better...I'll continue to offer suggestions and play my devil's advocate. Its up to you to get stand-offish about it, or take the constructive criticism as it is meant...an observer's personal opinion and suggestion on how to take things up a notch in here.
case in point...i'm not a ranger, but we NEED new blood here because the tournies are becoming stagnant. On the approval of one of the owners, I took it upon myself to promote urgent fury to help you guys out. Whether it will or not, at least I tried something

Id hate to say it man but is this necessarily the way to provide your opinion on the matter? I believe this thread was for how to send in questions regarding the sea snipers. Now thanks to you this thread has turned into a useless thread to litter the forum with instead of an informational thread. If you have any idea's to help promote Urgent Fury, let them out appropriately don't sit here and talk about how to make things better as this is not the place for it. Feel free to send an email with ideas or improvements you feel necessary to the appropriate people. I think all posting is done here.

i agree with you wolf. all i did was ask more background info, and it somehow got turned into a bash thread. They can go down THAT route all they like, I've said my peace on the matter and if there is anything I see in the future that could use a teak or an improvement, I will definitely offer that suggestion as well, hopefully w/out the drama hounds crying. As far as this being the right place for it, who knows. I did IM someone with a suggestion about the podcast and needing to spice them up because the last few have been drawn out and boring, and suggested they bring back the spoof ads. Lo and behold, they had one in the last one! Nicely coincidental, eh? They should do one for me lol Be interesting to hear

The sad thing is, I think you really believe everything you typed up there. However, you just keep building the case for your true ignorance sir.

This thread actually started out as a simple way for you (and the UF community in general) to post up questions to a future guest on an upcoming podcast.
Then YOU turned it into a debate about the Sea Snipers' relevance. As I pointed out in my last post, I wasn't the only person who thought that you were being combative. And you're right, truth is, nobody's going to have my back on this. And that's fine. But, the dictatorship that you cited is long gone. And honestly, that particular "chip" should have already been moved from your poor little shoulder. Everybody here is free to disagree as they please, you ass. But you can disagree without being disagreeable. You jacked this thread with your mindless bullshit, and you know you did.
While you're quite eloquent at times....your serious social dysfunction still shines through despite all them fancy words.

In closing Path...you have our eternal gratitude, for your "quality assurance". But, those matters should be handled in the appropriate place, by the appropriate people.

Didn't they contribute the SOCOM: Confrontation guide also? I'd have to check the book when I get home, but I'm almost positive they are mentioned in that particular guide.

I never played any SOCOM until Confrontation came out, but I knew about the Sea Snipers because of SOCOM: Confrontation . So no offense Path, but with SOCOM 4 right around the corner and how involved they have been in ALL the SOCOM games, was it really necessary to get a background on this clan before you asked a question?

Hippie hit the nail on the head. Due to the fact you said they haven't been around for years, wouldn't a relevant question been "What the hell have you guys been up to?" Instead asking why they are even relevant at all?

I mean you have to admit, your original post came off as a little passive aggressive.

good post Bull, I think you bring up good points. My wording may have been off, but i'm glad you saw the intent and saw fit to point out where my wording could have been better. But i did post that thinking there is a whole new generation that are like "what is socom"....so for THEM, and anyone not lucky enough to have been there or known about their contributions, a good intro would have made sense IMO and maybe gotten people excited about garnering any info from them
